Fashion Police Friday – September 10, 2010

Oh how I love the outfits my little 2 year old little wonder chooses. Last weekend was no exception. Saturday when she woke up with an awful cough and drippy nose I had decided to forgo the family BBQ in Florence we were supposed to be attending. I did have to run a quick errand to work (remember, I forgot my family rules). Since that was the only thing we had planned I let Ry pick her own outfit. Since it was a little chilly out and since she wasn’t feeling well, I told her she had to wear pants. Everything else? Was all her…

So, she’s wearing grey and white striped leggings and a vintage adult size Pepsi shirt that was made into a kiddlet sized onesie by a friend who knows how much Andy loves Pepsi! Oh, and we can’t forget her boots. Oh how she loves her boots.

It’s BAAaack…Fashion Police Friday: August 20, 2010

I know ya’all have been wondering what happened to the somewhat regular Fashion Police posts. What? You haven’t? Oh, well, I have been! This has got to be one of my favorite parts of Ry growing up…her choosing her own outfit. To be honest, the real reason I didn’t keep up with it thorugh the Summer was because she’s been home with Andy and, well, nearly every day is a fashion police day but I’m not sure if it’s because she picked out her own outfit or her dad did…and I really didn’t want to have to ask!  Sheesh, can you imagine that conversation? So, anyway, without further adeau…it’s back! Enjoy…
This particular day she decided that she’d like to wear pink shorts and a white long sleeve shirt. And, by long sleeve, I actually mean: on a normal 2 year old it would be long sleeved, but on Ry who happened to inherent my “blessing*” of long arms, it’s more 3/4 sleeve. Anyway, she apparently instinctively knew it was cold out this day, because she insisted on wearing socks. They happen to be striped with orange and pink stripes. Awesome. Oh, and let’s not forget the shades! The red, 80’s style shades that came from the $1 section at Target. They really just top off the whole outfit. The only thing I see that’s missing is a fanny pack…
*By blessing I mean in my 26 years of life I have only found 2 real benefits of having super long arms: 1. I can reach things up high and 2. If you bowhunt, longer arms mean longer draw length and a longer draw length means better speed. Faster is always better! I suppose if I would have played basketball or something they may have come in handy for that as well, but I hardly have an ounce of athletic ablility in my body, hence the lack of benefit to me.

Weird Little Monster

Before we get to the vidoe. I forgot to post an update from Ry’s 2-year check-up.

Stats: 28 lbs (65th percentile), 35.5″ tall (85th percentile)
I don’t have a Friday Fashion Police photo today…but not from the lack of horrbile outfits that kid had on this week! (Daddy’s now on Summer break) I figured this was along the same lines as Fashion Police though.

Fashion Police Friday – June 11

Ok, so technically, this is not a true “fashion police” post for 2 reasons. 1. How cute is that outfit she’s in! (They can’t all be bad, right?) and 2. The story behind the reason she is wearing it today.

Today is Andy’s very last day out at his school for the summer. The kids were done yesterday and today is just a grading/clean-up day. Normally, on the Fridays that Andy has to work (4 day school week!), Auntie Julia chips in and spends the day with the Monster. Well, today, she has to go to Portland for her final wedding dress fitting before her wedding (t-minus 15 days!) so she can’t watch Ry. Andy decided he’d take Ry to work with him. Fast forward a couple of days past that discussion…I was showing Andy Ry’s new outfit that Auntie Julia gave her for her birthday and I remarked about how stinkin’ cute it was and how cute Ry will look in it and Andy looks at the outfit and looks at me and says, “Can she wear that when she goes to work with me this Friday?” Sweet, no?

On another, non-fashion-police-but-still-blog-worthy note, I have a soar throat. And? Rylee has decided to drop the “a” off Mama and now she just calls me Mom. MOM! Talk about a punch to the gut…forget the fact she’s talking. Forget about the big-girl bed. Forget about the hair long enough for piggies…this little kid is SO not a baby any more. Maybe I have a soar throat because I am so sick over it.

Friday Fashion Police – June 4, 2010

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything…for those of you who don’t know, Andy’s grandmother passed away last week. We have had a busy couple of weeks and I just haven’t had time to do any blogging…some things have been more important. I have also been suffering from a writer’s block.

This Friday Fashion Police post will actually take some imagination because I did not actually take a picture of Rylee in her outfit…mostly because I’m pretty sure it was Daddy who picked out her outfit and I didn’t want to ostracize him (openly).

So please imagine…

These Pants…
With this shirt (the grey one with pink, purple and white bows on it, not pink-hard to see, I know)…
And this jacket…

Oh Daddy…I know you know not to wear a brown belt with black shoes, but I think we also need to talk about your denim combos…
