Here We Go Again…January Update!

I feel like it’s kind of funny giving you a “January Update” already when we literally just made the announcement two weeks ago, but, I figure since I’m not going to be doing weekly updates, I’d fill you in on the details after each of my doctor appointments. An well, yesterday was my “12 week” appointment, that I had at 13 weeks, hence the update.

My appointment went great. Since it happened to be on MLK day, Andy had the day off so him & Rylee came too! Oh my goodness, seeing Ry’s face light up when she heard the heartbeat was amazing. I SO wish I could have got that on camera. It’s very cool to have her at an age that she mostly understands what’s going on and is so completely over-the-moon excited!

And holy crap, my next appointment is already going to be the big ultrasound! February 20…mark your calendars, folks!

I promise to start getting better photos…and my goal is to do them weekly. For real this time. With Rylee it was so sporadic.

How far along? 13 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +0 {I was shocked…and stoked, so I celebrated later by eating some chocolate chip cookies.}
Stretch marks? Nada
Maternity Clothes: Not yet, but I have outgrown some of my pants.
Sleep: Not the greatest…and I’m already getting up 2-3 times per night just to pee.
Best moment this week: Seeing Rylee’s face when she heard the baby’s heartbeat at our appointment yesterday. She is so excited to be a big sister.
Movement: Nothing yet.
Gender: Don’t know yet…but we’ll find out on February 20!!
Labor Signs: Nope.
Food Cravings: Taco Bell chicken quesadillas dipped in nacho cheese sauce are my weakness…and the only thing that ever sounds good most of the time!
Belly Button in or out? In.
What I miss: Feeling normal…I hate feeling nauseous.
What I am looking forward to: The ultrasound! And for this nausea to go away.
Baby Milestones: Fingerprints have formed. Baby is about 3 inches long and weighs in at almost an ounce.
Other Goodness: Baby’s heartbeat was 168 beats/minute.

I checked back in my girls' baby books & we were all over the map with heartrates: 140s, 130s, 160s (though I noticed those slowed down toward the later appointments. baking babies is weird.)
Looking forward to following along, skinny minny:)

Baking babies is weird. This one is so different from Rylee. And I have no every-loving clue what her heart rate was when she was in the oven…look at you with your THREE baby books all filled out…you're making me feel like mom of the year. ;)

Oh bless your heart, I should've specified this was my pregnancy journal for all three. Cause I was neurotic while pregnant. Maëlle doesn't even own a baby book. Though we could've used Annika's because hers is 100% empty. Not even the girls name in it. I'll take my Mother of the Ages award and be on my merry way now…

Ummm….just so you know…you don't look like you are getting fat. :) I'm actually amazed….it seems like most everyone I know is pregnant again and they all popped out right away….you are looking great!

Hahahah, thank you! When Rylee made that fat comment I was full on bloated at the end of the day…so it goes back and forth. :) I already feel my clothes getting tighter, which didn't happen until I was at least 22 weeks w/ Rylee, so I'm sure I'll be popping here before long. :)

You look great! I didn't gain any weight for pretty much my first two trimesters, and even after that, by the day I went into labor I had only gained 14 lbs because my little guy made me SO sick! Is your pregnancy now similar to your pregnancy with Rylee? I'm jealous that you're eating chocolate chip cookies and having cravings! I never got to experience ONE craving! Make sure to let us know how the big ultrasound goes! Any names yet?

Thanks! When I was pregnant with Rylee I didn't gain any way for at least the first 20 weeks or so and I was at least 22 weeks along before I even had to wear any maternity clothes. I'm surprised I hadn't gained weight/am still wearing normal clothes because they say with the second it happens much sooner. This pregnancy is SO much different than with Ry. W/ her I wasn't sick at all, didn't have any cravings or anything. We haven't picked any names yet…we figured once we find out the sex, we'll start from there…again, SO different from Rylee. Things are just SO different the second time around, lol.
