Math has Never Been My Strong Suit but…

So, a few weeks ago we got a registration renewal from the DMV.
Before I even opened it up I thought, “Didn’t we just get one of these!?”
And then I thought, “I swear get these like every six months…”
Then I opened it up…it was for the Suburban.
After I picked my jaw off the ground when noticing the renewal price almost doubled, I started really thinking about it and doing the math…
When you have 7 vehicles, and you keep 4 of them registered, and the registration has to be renewed every 2 years…{2 divided by 6, times 4, carry the one…} we literally do get one of these in the mail every six months.
And yes, I know when I take the math even further…7 vehicles, 2 drivers in the household…it just doesn’t add up. Right?
But talk to Andy, my ever-loving husband, the math teacher, it totally adds up…we neeeeeed every one of those vehicles. Yep, every.single.one {side eye}
The Jeep is the one we use for Rylee, so duh.
The Buick is the daily driver that gets 30 MPG for Andy and his 60+ miles he drives 4 days a week.
The Suburban is just so versatile {Andy’s words, most definitely NOT mine}…it tows the utility trailer when helping people move/taking stuff to the dump/etc, it tows the car hauler when he need to take the tractor to help a friend/when one of the 6 other vehicles is not running and needs to be moved , it has seating for 8 people and none of our other vehicles does that, and it’s just fun to drive. {Again, not my words…I hate the suburban with a passion, but that’s another post all on it’s own}
The Yamaha V-Star 1100 motorcycle is used for Andy to take back and forth to work when the weather is nice…oh yea, and it’s cool.
The Farm Truck doesn’t leave the property and is, well, we live on 12 acres… it’s all sorts of useful.
The 1978 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser is the “fun rig” that has a built 350 motor, a 4″ lift and bikini top…that Andy has had since long before me…oh and hasn’t run since before Rylee was born…
The OTHER 1978 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser (yep, we’ve got 2 of them) is completely stock and will stay that way and it’s so cool and it’s gotta be worth money or something and it will stay in our family forever and Andy’s had it longer than the other Cruiser and oh yea…it hasn’t run for longer than the other one…
There’s our list of 7 vehicles. And did you pick up the other items in there? Yea, our 2 trailers and the tractor. Oh, I almost forgot, the car hauler trailer needs registration renewal every 4 years, so there’s that.
Now to Andy’s credit…out of all those, we only have payments on the tractor and with 12 acres, that really is truly a necessity.
Back to the math…if when we get all these vehicles running and on the road that means I’ll be getting these things in the mail every 3 months.
Shoot me now people…
…or send me wine…
