A lot of the mama-blogs I like to read take part in a Thursday “Writer’s Workshop”. Mama Kat give 4-5 topics to choose from every Thursday and then you choose a topic and write about it. Some are fun and easy, some really make you think. When I saw this week’s topic, I decided I’d go ahead and join in the fun!
TOPIC: Write a list of 10 things that are sure to put a smile on your face when you are not happy.
And without further adiue, in no particular order…
- Seeing the smile on Rylee’s face and watching her wave wildly as I drive up the driveway after work.
- An unexpected hug and/or kiss from Rylee.
- Having a glass of wine while talking to my sisters. Or just a glass of wine. Or just a call with my sisters. (That doesn’t count as 3 does it!?)
- Hearing “Hey Soul Sister” by Train.
- Making dinner.
- Receiving a hand-written note in the mail.
- Watching Andy and Rylee together…no matter if they are reading a book or playing outside.
A really good cup of coffee.Coffee. Any coffee.- Watching Grease or Dirty Dancing on VHS.
- Going outside and chasing after Rylee as she runs around exploring our property.
This is such a sweet list! It makes ME smile reading about how much joy you get from being with/around/watching, etc your daughter.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I agree with you "Hey Soul Sister" is guaranteed to make me smile and handwritten notes are way too far and in between. Wanna be pen pals? LOL
I love that Train song… totally makes me smile and dance around every.single.time :)stopping by from mam kats!
I love "Hey Soul Sister" and it makes me smile and sing….always. It's amazing how songs can make us smile! When I have bad days I love to listen to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" the hawaiian version. —Mariah's friend Anne:)
